How it’s calculated

Units (kWh) a day = watts × how many × hours a day ÷ 1000. A 1,000 W iron used for one hour uses 1 unit. Units a month = units a day × days used.

With slabs, the first units are charged at the first rate, the next ones at the second rate, and so on. Only the units inside each slab pay that slab’s rate.

Real use varies with the season, the appliance’s age and settings, so treat this as an estimate.
